Austin Schaffer

Austin Schaffer has had a diverse range of work experience. Austin currently works at Everactive, where they started as a Senior Software Engineer in September 2021 before being promoted to Staff Software Engineer in May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Merkle as a DevOps Engineer from March 2020 to September 2021. From January 2017 to March 2020, they were a Developer at Atlas Systems, Inc. In 2016, they had brief stints at Ferguson Enterprises as part of the Quick Response Team and at the NASA Langley Research Center as an Airborne Data Science Intern. Austin also gained experience at Christopher Newport University as an Honors Student from September 2011 to May 2016 and as a Java Tutor and Laboratory Assistant from January to December 2014. Additionally, they interned at Swisslog as part of the Incident Response Team in 2015 and served as Project Manager for the CNU Mobile Applications Development Team at CNU IT Services from May 2013 to August 2014. Lastly, they held the position of Parliamentarian for Kappa Kappa Psi from May 2013 to April 2014.

Austin Schaffer earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from Christopher Newport University, where they attended from 2011 to 2015. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology, from 2022 to 2025. In addition to their formal education, Austin obtained certifications in Programming in C# from Microsoft in April 2017, and Associate of (ISC)² from (ISC)² in June 2018.
