What you’ll be doing

Responsible for supporting the Company’s IT provision (infrastructure, hardware, software, licensing, telephony and systems) and supporting all areas of the company in gaining the maximum benefit from this, whilst ensuring that workload is effectively managed, and relevant issues are promptly reported. Duties include:

  • Manage helpdesk tickets, providing timely support and coordinating with team members and third parties. You will also be required to visit and support to satellite offices when needed.
  • Ensure effective system backups, maintain records, and address failures promptly.
  • Source, install, and manage hardware/software, ensuring appropriate access is managed.
  • Maintain and replace hardware/consumables such as printers, laptops, and phones.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, ensuring network drive/server access.
  • Review IT systems, propose improvements/upgrades, and suggest alternative solutions.
  • Provide training and guidance on IT topics to colleagues.
  • Promptly address or communicate system failures or high-priority issues.
  • Assist colleagues in areas supporting overall business objectives and communicate effectively to resolve problems.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety guidelines, report issues promptly, and perform any other duties contributing to IT team and company effectiveness.

Who we’re looking for

Essential:

  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely tailoring language to audience.
  • Ability to prioritise workload efficiently and work well both in a team as well as independently.
  • Flexible and able to respond to change, meeting the needs of users and the business.
  • Good Knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Desktop OS
    • Microsoft Server OS
    • Microsoft products including Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365
    • Computer hardware
    • Helpdesk environment
    • Asset Management and record keeping including Hardware and Software
    • New Starter/Leaver processing

Desirable:

  • Formal qualification in IT
  • Azure (and/or other cloud technologies)
  • Back up technology (VEEAM Backup and replication)
  • Networking
  • Experience working with Mac OS
  • PowerShell/VBScript scripting
  • Antivirus
  • Telephone System Support
  • ITIL/formal methodologies
  • IT Security knowledge
  • Mobile device management
