Nathan Johnson

Nathan Johnson has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and bioinformatics. Nathan currently holds the position of Senior Software Engineer at Evonetix Ltd. as of November 2021. In their previous role at Linguamatics, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to the development of the Asynchronous Messaging Pipeline (AMP) project. Nathan was responsible for various tasks including design, testing, integration, and packaging. Prior to that, Nathan worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Eagle Genomics Ltd., where they were involved in developing the e[datascientist] platform, focusing on REST and graph query endpoints. Before that, they held the position of Bioinformatician - Production Software at Cambridge Epigenetix and Platform Developer at Eagle Genomics Ltd. Nathan has also gained valuable experience at Ensembl Regulation EMBL-EBI, where they served as a Principal Developer, Acting Project Leader, and Senior Scientific Programmer / API Coordinator. Earlier in their career, Nathan worked as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Astrazeneca, where they developed tools and pipelines, maintained an Ensembl mirror site, and integrated data into various platforms.

Nathan Johnson completed their education history with a BSc in Biochemistry from The University of Manchester from 1995 to 1998. Following this, they pursued an MSc in Computational Molecular Biology (Bioinformatics) from the same university from 2001 to 2002.
