Jakob Wirbatz

Jakob Wirbatz has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jakob started their career in 2000 as a Consultant M&A at MVV Energie AG. In 2001, they became a Managing Partner at ACCERA Venture Partners, where they served until 2013. During this time, they also worked as a Lawyer / Partner at WEITNAUER Attorneys-at-Law from 2012 to 2013. In 2011, Jakob was appointed as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at SEMPACT AG.

In 2013, they joined Evonik as the Director of Corporate Venturing, a position they held until 2017. From 2017 to 2021, they served as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at JeNaCell. At Evonik, Jakob held various leadership roles, including Director of Corporate Strategy from 2017 to 2018 and Vice President of Corporate Strategy from 2018. Jakob also served as a Member of the Investment Committee from 2022 onwards. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President - External Growth Asia Pacific at Evonik, which they assumed in March 2023.
