Andrew Speirs

Andrew Speirs has held a variety of roles in the technology industry since 1983. Andrew began their career in the US Navy, where they led and coached a team of 120 technicians in organization-level maintenance functions for avionics. In 1996, they were a Project Manager for Information Technology at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont. From 2002 to 2017, they were the Chief Information Security Officer at National Life Group, where they achieved a record of 0 major security breaches over a 12-year period. In 2017, they joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Senior Associate and Principal, where they were responsible for capture and delivery of cyber-enhancing services. In 2022, they became the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Excentium, Inc.

Andrew Speirs obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) from Norwich University in Accounting and Business/Management and Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering. Andrew then attended the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth to complete Executive Education in Business Engagement and the Information Security Professional (BESP). Andrew also holds certifications from Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) for Series 99 Operations Professional (obtained in August 2012), ISACA for Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) (obtained in October 2000), Project Management Institute for Project Management Professional (PMP) (obtained in September 2001), and Combined Arms Center (CAC) Futures Development & Integration Ctr for Functional Area 30 (FA30) – Information Operations (IO). Additionally, they completed a Contingency Engineering Course at the Naval School, Civil Engineer Corps Officers, Port Hueneme, CA in February 2001 and a Naval Construction Force (NCF) Prospective Operations Officer Indoctrination Course at the same institution in June 2000.
