William Vargas

William Vargas has worked in various roles since 2005. William began their career as a Project Leader/Process Analyst at B2B Trust - Laurentian Bank of Montreal, where they conducted risk assessments, gap analysis, and provided recommendations to measure process performance. William then moved on to The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company, where they served as Problem/Change Manager, managing projects such as report development for the change management process and design and implementation of key performance indicators for incident and problem management processes. In 2010, they joined Accenture as a Manager, directing PMO activities for a program with 5 work streams. William then worked as a Project Manager at Yamana Gold Inc., managing the delivery of large-scale and complex projects for initiatives related to operations and capabilities improvement. From 2012 to 2016, they were a Project Manager and Consultant at Kinross Gold Corporation, where they managed the delivery of the Kinross Land Management System and provided management consulting support to the Global VP of Land Management. William then moved on to CIBC Capital Markets as a Senior Project Manager in 2019. In 2020, they worked as a Project Manager and Consultant at Kinross Gold U.S.A., Inc. and in 2021, they began working as a Project Delivery Manager at Exelegent. William is currently a Partner at W Vargas Group.

William Vargas has a long history of education. William obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering from Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas between 1987 and 1992. William then attended CMBS from 1981 to 1986, though no degree was obtained. In 2000, they obtained a Certificate in E-Business from Universidad Industrial de Santander. In 2004 and 2005, they obtained a Certificate in Risk Management from the University of Toronto. Finally, they obtained an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University between 2006 and 2008. In addition to their formal education, William Vargas has obtained various certifications, such as the Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance in 2017, the PMP - Project Management Professional from PMI in 2009, and the Certified SAFe 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2021.
