Jan Wendland

Jan Wendland has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and web development. Starting in 2013, they worked as a Web Developer at Fachhochschule Münster (University of Applied Sciences), where they developed a B2B web platform using technologies such as Node.js, MongoDB, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Jade templating. From 2015 to 2015, Jan worked as a Full-stack Developer and Research Assistant at the University of Sydney, assisting in the development of case materials and implementing a web-based sentiment classification system. At Informationsfabrik GmbH, Jan held multiple roles, including that of a Web Developer from 2012 to 2016 and a Data Integration Specialist and Software Engineer from 2016 to 2019. In these roles, Jan was responsible for designing and implementing automated data warehouse and business intelligence solutions, as well as developing web-based dashboards and data modeling tools. They also gained experience in working at Volkswagen AG as a Software Engineer from 2019 to 2022. Currently, Jan is working at Exodus as a Principal Software Engineer.

Jan Wendland has a Master's degree in Information Systems from the University of Münster, which was obtained from 2013 to 2015. They also completed an exchange semester in Information Technology at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in 2014. In 2015, they completed their Master's thesis in Extreme Events, Social Media at the University of Sydney. Jan Wendland also holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from the University of Münster, which was obtained from 2010 to 2013. In terms of additional certifications, they have obtained the CCA Spark and Hadoop Developer certification from Cloudera in October 2017, and the PowerCenter Data Integration 9.x: Developer Specialist certification from Informatica in the same year. They were also awarded the Award for Outstanding Performance in Highschool Physics by the German Physics Society in 2010.
