Lara Sweida-Metwally

Lara Sweida-Metwally has a diverse and extensive work experience in the events and entertainment industry. Lara currently holds the position of Head of Programming- Events and Entertainment at Expo 2020 Dubai, where they started in 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Client Services Manager at ATPI from 2020 to 2021, where they provided event services for global and complex events including the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Lara also served as a Senior Consultant at Ralph Appelbaum Associates from 2017 to 2019, contributing to the development of cultural and heritage centers in Dubai. Lara has also worked as a Project Specialist at a consultant firm and as a Senior Project Manager at Imagination. Furthermore, they have a strong background in event management, having held roles as a Senior Project Manager at Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation- ADMAF, an Account Manager at BSL Middle East, and an Account Executive at KHP Consulting.

Lara Sweida-Metwally has a diverse education history. Lara attended the University of Westminster from 2001 to 2005, where they pursued a BA (Hons) degree in International Business with Spanish. Prior to that, from 1989 to 2001, they completed their secondary education at San Charles Borromaus, where they obtained a German Abitur.

In addition to their formal education, Lara has also obtained certifications in other areas. In 2013, they obtained a City & Guilds certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the Eton Institute.
