Principal Engineer at Exponent

Jacob Fisher has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jacob started their career in 1995 as an IAESTE Trainee at DLR - Institut für Luft- und Raumfahrtmedizin, where they conducted research on radiation sensitivity and effectiveness of radiation protectors on human skin. Their responsibilities included experimental design, testing equipment design, testing, data analysis, and reporting.

In 1998, Jacob joined the University of Pennsylvania as a Lecturer and later became a Whitaker Doctoral Research Fellow. During their time at the university, they focused on researching the mechanics of ventilator-induced lung injury at various levels, from pulmonary mechanics to subcellular mechanotransduction. Jacob was responsible for experimental design, development of novel techniques, data analysis and interpretation, technical writing and publication, and grant writing.

In 2003, Jacob transitioned to Exponent, where they assumed the role of Principal Engineer. Their current role and responsibilities at Exponent are not specified, but they have been with the company since then.

Jacob Fisher earned a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, where they studied from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate education at Penn State University from 1991 to 1996. At Penn State, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science, with a minor in Bioengineering and German. In addition to their academic qualifications, Jacob Fisher obtained a certification as a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) from the Maryland State Board of Professional Engineers in January 2009.
