Kaitlin Spak, PhD, PE has a diverse work experience that spans several roles and companies. Kaitlin is currently a Principal Engineer at Exponent since March 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Managing Engineer from March 2019 to March 2022 and as a Managing Engineer from March 2017 to March 2019 at the same company. Kaitlin also worked as a Senior Engineer from March 2016 to March 2017 and as an Associate from September 2014 to March 2016 at Exponent.

Before joining Exponent, Kaitlin worked as a NASA Space Technology Research Fellow at Jet Propulsion Laboratory from January 2012 to July 2014. During this time, they conducted research on the effects of cable harnesses on the dynamic response of space structures and assisted with projects in the Advanced Deployable Structures group.

Additionally, Kaitlin served as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Virginia Tech, CIMSS Lab from August 2010 to December 2011. Kaitlin'sresponsibilities included investigating the effects of cable/wire harnessing on satellite structure vibrations and developing active clearance control mechanisms for jet engines. Kaitlin also taught lab courses in heat transfer and computer-aided design.

Kaitlin's work experience also includes an internship as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Miranda Technologies (GVD) from June 2007 to December 2009.

Kaitlin Spak, PhD, PE completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Communication Studies at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2005 to 2010. Kaitlin then pursued higher education at Virginia Tech, where they obtained their PhD in Mechanical Engineering from 2010 to 2014.

In terms of certifications, Kaitlin Spak holds several achievements. Kaitlin obtained their Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) in October 2008. Following that, they became a Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in the State of California in April 2016.
