Jonathan Wright

Jonathan Wright has extensive work experience in the field of data engineering and data science. Jonathan is currently the Director of Data Engineering at Exscientia since October 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an IT Consultant at Invariance from May 2017 to July 2019. Jonathan also served as a Principal Data Scientist at BMT Defence & Security UK from September 2018 to December 2018, where they focused on knowledge graph research and contributed to data science content for cyber security bids. Jonathan's previous role as a Principal Data Scientist at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence from April 2013 to March 2017 involved leading a technical team and delivering strategic improvements in data science capability for government clients. Before that, they worked at Detica as a Technical Lead and Data Developer, specializing in data processing and analytics. Jonathan also worked as a Consultant and Data Analyst, developing enterprise web applications and providing MI reporting and analysis.

Jonathan Wright holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science from the University of Bristol, which they completed in 2005. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics from the University of Warwick in 2002. In 2017 to 2018, they pursued a Nanodegree in Artificial Intelligence from Udacity. Moreover, Jonathan has obtained various certifications in AWS (Amazon Web Services) from LinkedIn, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in different domains, such as databases, services and design scenarios, identity and access management, auto scaling and virtual network services, application deployment, cloud services overview, storage design, virtual private cloud, and compute services. Jonathan has also acquired additional certifications and undergone training in AngularJS, AWS security, enterprise security, cloud computing, serverless computing, AWS API Gateway, and Hadoop for Data Science.
