Rolando Angelini

Rolando Angelini has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Rolando started their career in 2006 as a Java Developer and Tech Lead at Escuela de Posgrado de la Armada, where they developed educational procurement systems and managed control systems. Rolando then worked as a Technical Consultant at IT Servicios de Venezuela, specializing in IT security and project management for the banking sector.

In 2008, Rolando transitioned to Universidad Central de Venezuela, where they served as a University Teacher and Teaching Assistant in software engineering and computer architecture. Rolando continued their academic career until 2014.

Moving back to the industry, Rolando joined Movilnet in 2009 and held various roles, including Strategic Planning Consultant and Application Integration Specialist. In these roles, they conducted market research, ensured business continuity, and implemented IT solutions integration projects.

In 2014, Rolando became the Lead Java Developer at Central Madeirense C.A, acting as a team leader, software architect, and solution designer. Rolando implemented a test-driven development environment and integrated retail scales with the Price Management application.

From 2015 to 2017, Rolando worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Intertec International, where they leveraged their expertise in software development.

In 2017, they joined eDreams ODIGEO as a Java Developer, focusing on software development related to the travel industry and the migration of monolithic architecture to microservices.

Rolando's next career move was to Zopa in 2018, where they became a Senior Software Engineer - Tech Lead. Rolando led the tech transformation process to turn the P2P lending business into a neobank, contributing to the migration of capabilities and microservices development.

Following their tenure at Zopa, Rolando worked at AREX Markets from 2021 to 2022, first as an Engineering Manager and later as an Engineering Director. Rolando was responsible for engineering strategy, building an engineering ladder, coaching and mentoring engineering leaders, and designing and implementing hiring processes.

Currently, Rolando is the Engineering Director at Factorial HR, where they lead a team of engineers and engineering managers, conducts hiring, and guides product teams. Rolando has contributed to the tripling of generated revenue while maintaining a high-performance culture.

Rolando Angelini has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela, obtained from 2008 to 2012. Rolando also holds a Teaching Certified degree from Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador, earned from 2007 to 2008.
