Carolina immigrated to the US from Colombia as an infant; she was raised in Albuquerque, NM. Prior to joining UpTogether in 2020, Carolina worked as a Spanish OPI (over the phone interpreter). Having taken on the role of interpreter not only professionally, but in her daily life as well, she understands how language can be viewed as a barrier and even a weakness.
Growing up in a low income household, she and her family had a lot of support from other family members and friends. This experience instilled in her a strong understanding of the importance of community and why it is so valuable to prioritize people and social connections. She is passionate about fighting against harmful stereotypes that directly impact her community and many others. She enjoys empowering the members and providing support to people across the country in their journey towards accomplishing their goals.
