Raphael Espanha

Raphael Espanha is a Senior Research Scientist at FARO Technologies since October 2020, where responsibilities include designing and enhancing 2D and 3D deep learning models, as well as deploying microservices on the cloud. Previously, Raphael held roles as a Research Scientist at Barkyn, focusing on custom models for image classification and pose estimation, and as a Lead Data Scientist at Mobileum, where the development of machine learning solutions for telecom fraud was a key responsibility. Additional experience includes positions as a Data Scientist at WeDo Technologies and trainee at Uniklinik Köln, contributing to projects in cloud-based solutions and software enhancements, respectively. Raphael began a career with an internship at Philips, which involved web technology integration for data management systems. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Medical Informatics and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universidade do Minho.
