Chris Gonyea

Director, Technical Operations at Fastly

Chris Gonyea has a diverse work experience that spans several companies and roles. Chris joined NHVT.net in 1999 as a Technical Support Intern before moving on to Lake Sunapee Bank as a Help Desk Intern in 2000. From 2003 to 2006, Chris worked as an IT Consultant for Alliance Core Technologies, mainly serving small businesses in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

In 2006, Chris joined Northeast Delta Dental as a Technical Support Specialist, where they provided individual support to employees and maintained the company's Windows-based network and applications. In 2009, they joined Dyn as a Customer Support Technician, playing a crucial role in supporting DynDNS.com customers and contributing to product and team improvements. Over the years, Chris took on various roles at Dyn, including Enterprise Support Team Lead, Enterprise Support Manager, Director of Client Services, and Product Manager. Chris successfully led the growth of Enterprise Support, Sales Engineering, and Documentation teams during Dyn's expansion phase.

In 2015, Chris joined Fastly as a Support Manager, and within a year, they became the Director of Technical Account Management, responsible for building and leading the Technical Account Management team. Chris designed and implemented the entire Technical Account Management program, which played a significant role in customer satisfaction, revenue retention, and expansion. In 2018, Chris briefly worked as a Solutions Architect at Oracle, where they handled customer implementations and collaborated with Sales Engineers and Product Management.

Chris rejoined Fastly in 2019 and took on leadership roles, starting as a Manager of Mission Control before being promoted to Senior Manager of Technical Operations. Currently, Chris serves as the Director of Technical Operations at Fastly, where they oversee the technical operations team and drives excellence in operations.

Throughout their career, Chris has demonstrated strong leadership skills, expertise in technical operations, customer support, and team management. Chris has played a critical role in the growth and success of the companies they have worked for.

Chris Gonyea graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems. In addition, they obtained a certification in PMC-III from Pragmatic Marketing in February 2014.
