Head, Sustainable Development Competence Group at FCG Finnish Consulting Group Oy

Sami Kangasharju is the current head of the Sustainable Development Competence Group at FCG Finnish Consulting Group Oy. Sami has also held the position of Executive VP at FCG Finnish Consulting Group, where they were responsible for heading a global consultancy business in energy, environment and international development. In this role, they oversaw the delivery of advisory services to governments, industrial clients, investors, municipalities and development banks within the domain of Sustainable Development. Sami's team employed 300 experts in assignments in 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Prior to their role at FCG Finnish Consulting Group, Sami was the Director of the Spanish-Finnish Chamber of Commerce for 6 years and 3 months. Sami was also a Partner and Advisory Board Member at Made in Mobile for 7 years. In this role, they helped companies innovate, expand, raise investment, network and sell.

Sami has also served as the CEO of FCG International for 1 year and 7 months, and as the Country Director of Elisa Videra for 4 years. In their role at Elisa Videra, they provided video conferencing and digital signage services for large corporate customers. The company employed 60 people in Spain during their tenure.

Sami started their career as a Senior Consultant at Swot Consulting for 2 years and 10 months, before moving on to become Vice President at SWECO for 5 years.

Sami Kangasharju has an MBA from Aalto University and a M.Sc. in Industrial Management from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan. During their time at Aalto University, they did international modules of the program in Cambridge, MA, and Palo Alto. At Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, they were the Musical Director for Prodeko and their major subjects were international business strategy, digital image processing, and organisational psychology.
