Luis Uranga is an accomplished risk management professional with extensive experience in supervisory roles within prominent financial institutions. Currently serving as AVP and Governance and Controls Lead at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco since February 2017, Luis provides strategic direction in operational, compliance, and IT risk management, while leading a team focused on supervisory assessments and governance ratings. Previous positions include Senior Manager at the same Federal Reserve Bank, and Deputy Chief of Staff at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where Luis supported high-level strategic initiatives and communication efforts. Additional roles include a secondee at the Bank of England, Chief of Staff to the Head of Risk Function at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and positions with the University of California, Los Angeles, and the US Department of Commerce. Luis holds a Master of International Affairs in Economic Policy from Columbia University and a BA in Economics from UCLA.
