Michael Babischkin

Michael Babischkin has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Michael is currently serving as the Vice President - Deputy Director of Information Security at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, where they provide strategic leadership and directs multiple security teams. Prior to this, they held the positions of Assistant Vice President, Senior Manager Information Security and Assistant Vice President, Cyber Risk Manager at the same organization.

Before joining the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, Michael worked at Grainger as an IT Security Manager, where they transformed the Security Operations Center and led a team responsible for monitoring and responding to security incidents. Michael also has experience in IT security operations at Sherwin Williams, where they established a Security Operations Center and managed the corporate network vulnerability management program.

In addition to their corporate experience, Michael has also served in the U.S. Coast Guard in various roles, including Enterprise IT Support Manager, Service Desk Coordinator, Service Desk Technician, and Lead Instructor. Michael has provided IT support, training, and management of operations for the Coast Guard.

Furthermore, Michael has a background in telecommunications and information systems, having worked as a Lead Technician at the U.S. Coast Guard Telecommunications and Information Systems Command.

Michael Babischkin obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology from Strayer University, where they studied from 2003 to 2005. In addition to their degree, they hold several certifications. In 2017, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)². In 2016, they achieved the Splunk Certified Power User certification from Splunk, and in 2010, they obtained the ITIL Version 3 Foundation certification from EXIN. Most recently, in December 2021, they obtained the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control™ (CRISC) certification from ISACA.
