Matt Hourihan

Matt Hourihan has extensive work experience in various roles related to research and development, budget and policy program, clean energy policy analysis, and campaign communications. Matt is currently serving as the Associate Director for R&D and Advanced Industry at the Federation of American Scientists. Prior to that, they held positions such as Director of the R&D Budget and Policy Program at AAAS, Clean Energy Policy Analyst at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, and Jan Schori Fellow at the Business Council for Sustainable Energy. Matt has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at George Mason University, Campaign Communications Specialist at SEIU, Media Relations Manager at The Ocean Conservancy, and Western County Reporter at Potomac News/Manassas Journal Messenger.

Matt Hourihan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from Ithaca College. Matt later pursued a Master of Public Policy with a focus in Science & Technology Policy from George Mason University.
