Joshua Schoop

Joshua Schoop has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Joshua is currently the Principal Director of Technology and Innovation at the Federation of American Scientists since June 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of the Day One Project starting from October 2019.

Joshua also worked at Deloitte Consulting as the Manager of Global Public Sector from May 2017 to November 2019. Joshua was the Managing Editor of Innovations: Technology | Governance | Globalization, a journal published by MIT Press, from November 2015 to May 2017.

Additionally, Joshua co-founded and served as the Managing Director of the Policy Design Lab, where they oversaw operations and business development activities from January 2015 to May 2017. This lab focused on delivering innovative practices in the public and private sectors.

Joshua also held positions such as Social Innovation Research Fellow at the Phyllis M. Taylor Center for Social Innovation and Design Thinking from June 2014 to May 2017, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Tulane University from August 2012 to May 2017.

Furthermore, Joshua worked as a Consultant at the EMPLOY Collaborative from June 2015 to February 2016. Joshua was contracted by the International Labour Organization to create the Samoa National Action Plan on Youth Employment, which was ratified by the National Parliament in October 2015.

Earlier in their career, Joshua was involved in consulting and research at LIFECITY LLC from January 2012 to June 2012. Overall, Joshua Schoop brings a wealth of experience in technology, innovation, public sector management, and social innovation to their current role.

Joshua Schoop holds a PhD in International Development from Tulane University Law School, along with an MS in International Development from the same institution. Joshua also earned a BA in Philosophy & Business from the University of Iowa.
