Mya Price

Mya Price has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Mya started their career in 2013 as a Child Hunger Corps Member at God's Pantry food bank, where they conducted community assessments and implemented programming for child and family programs. Mya then worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA Community Outreach Coordinator at TWEENS NUTRITION & FITNESS COALITION INC, where they strengthened community partnerships and established connections with other organizations. In 2016, they became the Director of Youth Programs at the YMCA of Central Kentucky, overseeing afterschool and summer initiatives. Mya also had their own business called More Than Your Average, a plus-size vintage boutique catering to women sizes 12+. Mya then joined Feeding America, starting as a Program Specialist for Child and Family on Equitable Access programs, managing federal program participation and providing technical assistance. Mya later became the Manager of Commodity and Federal Nutrition Programs, involved in campaign strategies, policy advocacy, and monitoring federal policies. Their most recent role at Feeding America was as the Senior Manager of Commodity and Federal Nutrition Programs. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Food Security Equity Impact Fund at Feeding America, where they increase awareness and strengthens community relations for the organization's impact fund.

Mya Price is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of the District of Columbia, pursuing a degree in Urban Leadership & Entrepreneurship with a focus on Urban Government and Political Leadership. Prior to this, they completed their Master's Degree in Community and Leadership Development from the University of Kentucky in 2017. Mya obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Sociology/Anthropology from Centre College in 2013.
