Matt Coffey

Matt Coffey has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Matt has most recently been employed at Feefo as a Chapter Lead Software Engineer since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Kingfisher IT Services as a Senior API Developer from June 2018 to January 2021. From February 2014 to May 2018, Matt served as a Lead Software Developer at Cogeco Peer 1.

Before that, Matt was employed at Cisco Systems as a Software Engineer from April 2011 to February 2014. During their time at Cisco Systems, they were involved in developing RESTful headend components and operations UIs. Matt also worked as a Senior software engineer on the BSkyB Anytime+ advertising project, where they delivered server-side RESTful components, conducted test automation engineering, and handled configuration management/deployment automation.

Matt began their career at BitWise Ltd as a Software Engineer from June 2010 to March 2011. Matt worked on a program analysis framework and implemented a static source code analysis result management system. Matt also improved throughput performance using various techniques and created Eclipse RCP views, markers, and dialogs.

Prior to that, Matt worked at Redwin Technologies as a Software Engineer from September 2009 to June 2010. Their responsibilities included designing and implementing a Rich Internet Application using ZK, Spring, Hibernate, and MySQL. Matt also developed a data source adaptor for the Sage 50 Accounts application and implemented various SOAP and RESTful Web Service clients.

At CSC, Matt worked as an Applications Developer from May 2007 to September 2009. Matt worked on a reinsurance web application using Struts2, Spring, Hibernate, and Oracle. Matt also automated the translation from Smalltalk to Java of a reinsurance desktop application.

In 2002, they began attending Heriot-Watt University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence. Matt continued their studies there until 2006. In 2009, Matt enrolled in Sun Microsystems to earn the Sun Certified Java Programmer certification, focusing on the field of Software Engineering.
