Job description

Felix Construction Company is seeking an experienced Project Engineer who will assist Project Managers in the execution of water and wastewater treatment projects throughout the Dallas metro area ($250k – $20M). The Individual must be self-motivated and possess strong communication/interpersonal skills.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Closely work with Project Managers, Superintendents, field personnel, and others involved in projects.
  • Learn and set up project files in accordance with company systems.
  • Organize vendor files, communicate clearly with vendors, and draft and set up purchase orders, subcontracts, and material orders under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Take responsibility for gathering, taking, and organizing project photographic documentation.
  • Maintain the project CPM Schedule, work with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
  • Learn payment application process and drafts progress billings for Project Manager review.
  • Attend project meetings and assume responsibility for some agenda items.
  • Track, review and follow up on submittals and RFIs to keep the project on track.
  • Assist Project Manager in creating work packages for field personnel, including coordinating with Superintendent, and creating AutoCAD drawings with details of the work to be performed.
  • Compile Operations and Maintenance (O&M) information from vendors.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Work from the Felix Construction Richardson office and make frequent job site visits around the metro area.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Construction management, civil engineering or mechanical engineering degree required.

  • 2+ years of water/wastewater construction industry experience highly desired.

  • Advanced Excel and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam skills highly desired.

  • Basic AutoCAD experience preferred.

  • Able to read plans and specifications for all the disciplines on a typical water/wastewater project.

  • Exposure to Alternative Procurement Delivery Method (APDM) experience highly desired (CSP, CMAR, D-B, JOC, etc.).

  • Take initiative and handle ambiguity well.

  • Work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

  • Have the legal right to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
