Marty Gauvin

Chief Executive Officer at Fertilis

Marty Gauvin has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Marty is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Fertilis since January 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Principal Advisor at R&D Certainty starting from February 2020.

In 2009, Gauvin became the President and CEO of Virtual Ark, a company that assists innovative companies with capital needs, grants, investment, and strategic advice. Marty also founded and managed venture capital funds through Virtual Ark.

Gauvin's involvement in academia includes being a member of the Adelaide Business School Advisory Board at the University of Adelaide since August 2020. Marty also served as a member of the College of Science and Engineering Industry Advisory Board at Flinders University since February 2022. Additionally, they held several roles at Flinders University such as a member of the Industry Advisory Board for the School of Computer Science, Engineering, and Mathematics, and a Council Member from 2011 to 2015.

Marty has also held leadership positions at Virtual Voices as the Managing Director since May 2017 and at Parseq Computer Systems Pty Ltd, where they were the Managing Director of the consulting business from 1989 onwards.

Between 2015 and 2022, Gauvin contributed to the Department of Industry, Innovation, and Science as the Chair of the Innovation Investment Committee. Marty was also a Specialist Advisor for the R&D Tax Incentive and a member of the R&D Incentives Committee overseeing the R&D Tax Incentive program.

In 2011, Gauvin served as the Executive Chairman of CloudTech Group Limited, the public holding company for Virtual Ark, before eventually acquiring Virtual Ark in 2017. Marty also held the role of Executive Chairman at Tier 5 Pty Ltd from 2009 to 2015.

Marty Gauvin attended St Peters College from 1979 to 1984, but the field of study remains unknown. Marty continued their education at the University of Adelaide from 1985 to 1987, focusing on Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
