Susan Steinthal

Susan Steinthal currently serves as General Counsel at Fidem Financial since November 2025. Prior to this role, Susan held the position of Chief Legal Officer at Mercury® Financial from March 2022 to September 2025, where responsibility included oversight of Legal, Compliance, and Enterprise Risk Management teams. Between August 2015 and March 2022, Susan worked at Citizens Financial Group, Inc. as EVP & Deputy General Counsel, leading the Client Advisory Services Legal team and the Consumer Banking Legal team. Earlier experience includes serving as General Counsel for International Retail Banking at Citigroup Inc. from January 2004 to July 2015, and various roles including Director & Associate General Counsel. Susan began a legal career as a litigation associate at prestigious firms Richards Spears Kibbe & Orbe and Cravath Swaine & Moore. Academic credentials include a JD from Columbia Law School and a BA from Princeton University in Religion and American Studies.
