Donald Sung

Head of Capital Markets at Finalis

Donald Sung has worked in the financial services industry since 1993. Donald began their career as an Associate at Sidley Austin LLP before moving to Morgan Stanley as an Executive Director in 1994. In 2004, Donald joined Deutsche Bank as a Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets origination, where they were responsible for convertible and equity derivative structuring and placement and was the inventor of the Issuer Stock Borrow Facility in connection with convertible debt financing. In 2012, Donald moved to Lazard as a Partner in Capital Markets & Corporate Finance Advisory, where they gained significant experience with M&A structuring and financing, equity derivative structuring and trading, and debt restructuring and bankruptcy financing. In 2016, Donald joined Nomura as a Managing Director in Client Financing & Solutions, head of equity and equity-linked origination, helping emerging and established companies find innovative financing solutions in debt and equity capital markets. In 2019, Donald co-founded Earsight, LLC, where they are the CEO, overseeing the implementation of mobile technology to help struggling readers achieve automaticity in their reading. In 2022, Donald will join Finalis as the Head of Capital Markets.

Donald Sung has an extensive educational background. Donald graduated from St. Paul's School in 1985 as Valedictorian. Donald then attended Harvard University from 1985 to 1989, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), magna cum laude, with a major in Literature and a minor in Math. Donald then attended the University of Chicago Law School from 1989 to 1992, where they earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.).
