Sari Kauppi is a Senior Research Scientist at the Finnish Environment Institute, focusing on hazardous substances and plastics in the circular economy since 2012. Kauppi has also served as a researcher studying the environmental impacts of mining and briefly acted as the director for the Circular Economy Strategic Program. Prior to this role, Kauppi was a researcher at the University of Helsinki from 2006 to 2011, specializing in the bioremediation of contaminated soil and water. Additionally, Kauppi worked as an office manager at JS Kauppi Oy from 1996 to 2007. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and an MSc in Environmental Science and Ecology from the University of Helsinki, along with a vocational qualification in business and administration.
