Mmie Maria Aponte

Maria Aponte, MMIE, PMP has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Maria currently holds the position of Head of Programs at Fintech Cadence, where they lead program operations. Prior to this, they served as Programs Lead at the same company.

Maria has also worked at the Innovators and Entrepreneurs Foundation, where they started as a Board Member in 2020 and later became the Chair of the Board of Directors.

In 2021, Maria worked as a Program Manager at the McGill Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship, overseeing program management and implementation.

Before that, they held positions at Startup Canada | Canada's Entrepreneurship Organization, where they served as Programs, Foundation and Research Manager, and Programs and Communities Coordinator.

Maria's earlier experience includes working as a Business Analyst at Clausehound, where they researched industry trends, designed project workplans, and facilitated grant application submissions.

Maria also served as an Innovation Manager at Orquidea Ltda., where they played a key role in rebranding the company's corporate image and products. Maria led the development of a successful line of teas, managed relations with foreign suppliers, and optimized the company's supply chain processes.

Maria Aponte holds a Master's of Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation degree from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. Maria also has an International Business Law Diploma from Universidad de Los Andes and a Bachelor of Laws-LLB degree from Universidad Externado de Colombia. In addition, they obtained their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in November 2022.
