Katerina Boufea

Katerina Boufea is a Senior Bioinformatician at Fios Genomics since May 2020, previously serving as a Bioinformatician within the same organization. Prior experience includes a tutoring role at the Biology Teaching Organisation, University of Edinburgh, where Katerina supported MSc Bioinformatics courses from April 2019 to May 2020, and a PhD candidacy at the University of Edinburgh from April 2017 to May 2020. Katerina also completed a training stint at EMBL-EBI in early 2017, focusing on inter-species phenotype and gene mapping. Earlier academic engagement involved serving as a Student Assistant at Wageningen UR, assisting with advanced statistics and data management courses. Katerina holds a Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics from Wageningen University & Research and a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.
