Amy Pearson-Wales has an extensive work experience in the field of marketing and communications. Amy is currently serving as the Head of Marketing and Communications at First Mode. Previously, they held the position of Head of Communications, Office of the CEO at GH Labs from December 2021 to August 2023. Before that, they worked at SightLife, starting as the VP of Marketing and Communications from September 2019 to August 2020, and later becoming the SVP of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs from August 2020 to December 2021. Amy also had roles as VP of Communications and Public Affairs at Artefact from May 2018 to July 2019 and as VP of Health and Social Impact at Weber Shandwick from August 2016 to August 2017. Prior to that, they gained experience at PATH in various communication roles, starting as a Communications Specialist from 2008 to 2011, then transitioning to an Advocacy and Communications Officer from 2011 to 2014, and finally serving as a Senior Communications Officer from 2014 to 2016. Amy began their career as a Program/Communications Associate at Sustainable Seattle from 2005 to 2006 and later worked as a Public Relations Manager at the Pacific Northwest Research Institute from 2006 to 2008.

Amy Pearson-Wales obtained a Dual B.A. in Spanish & Latin American Studies and Sociology from Middlebury College, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Amy later pursued a M.Phil Research Master's Degree in Comparative Health & Social Policy at the University of Oxford from 2002 to 2004. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a PMD Pro Level 1 - Project Management for Development Professionals certification from PATH in 2014, as well as a Performance Leader Certification and Training from the same institution. In 2003, they also obtained a certification in Participatory Development Approaches to Women's Health Advocacy from the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
