Philip Torr

Chief Scientific Advisor at Five

Philip Torr has a long and varied work history. Philip started as a Researcher at the University of Oxford in 1990, then moved on to become a Research Scientist at Microsoft in 1997. In 2004, they became a Professor at Oxford Brookes University, and in 2013 they returned to the University of Oxford as a Professor. In 2016, they became the Chief Scientific Advisor at FiveAI, and also founded and became Director of OxSight. In 2019, they co-founded Aistetic and became the Chief Technologist and Director. Additionally, they have been a professor of Tai Chi since 1900.

Philip Torr completed their MSc in Maths from the University of Southampton in 1990. Philip then pursued a DPhil in Computer Vision from the University of Oxford, which they completed in 1995.
