Tom Heron

Tom Heron has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Tom started their career in the US Navy as a Commander and served from 1984 to 1995. Tom then transitioned to the corporate world, working as a Purchasing Agent/Logistics for Champion International from 1995 to 1997.

Heron then joined Capital One Financial where they held various positions including Sr. Project Manager, Business Manager, and Finance Manager from 1997 to 2005. Tom demonstrated expertise in managing creative development processes and enhancing risk and response cut processes.

In 2005, Heron became the Owner of Dinners by the Dozen before moving on to work as Vice President of Production Services at Harris Connect from 2006 to 2007. Tom reengineered operating processes and reshaped the organizational culture.

Heron then served as VP Operations at Channel Blade Technologies from 2008 to 2009 before starting their own company, Heron Enterprises, where they were the President from 2007 to 2011.

In 2010, Heron joined Conn's as a Sr. Director Credit and made significant improvements in collections, credit granting, and customer service within a short period of time.

From 2011 to 2022, Heron worked at USAA, holding various positions such as Lead Consumer Credit Risk Analyst, Consumer Lending CFO and Director of Pricing, and Director of Enterprise Underwriting & Pricing. Tom successfully led cross-departmental collaborations and large-scale projects.

Currently, Heron is the Director of Lending Analytics at Flagship Credit Acceptance since 2022.

Tom Heron's education history includes obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Marquette University, which they attended from 1981 to 1984. Prior to that, from 1976 to 1979, they attended Williston Northampton, where their degree and field of study are unspecified. Tom also attended Naval Nuclear Power School from 1985 to 1986, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) equivalent degree in Nuclear Engineering. Most recently, they pursued a Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDS) at The University of Texas at San Antonio from 2016 to 2017.
