James Campbell

James Campbell joined Flagstar in 2021 as executive vice president and head of all servicing and subservicing activities for Flagstar’s residential mortgage business. He brings to Flagstar over 30 years in the financial industry with a focus on the customer experience, employee development, process improvement, automation, and change management.

Campbell most recently held the role as head of servicing and post-closing at Caliber Home Loans, Inc. His focus on developing an outstanding customer experience was reinforced by his commitment to working with his origination partners in all four channels of lending, retail, wholesale, correspondent lending, and direct-to-consumer. His diverse background in the financial industry also included a role at Deutsche Bank as director and head of asset management for the residential mortgage-backed securities group and as a director at Credit Suisse where he had oversight of the residential mortgage-backed securities servicing portfolios.

While at Caliber, Campbell was an active member of the servicing advisory boards for both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and previously served as treasurer for the United Way and the Center for Independent Living in Holland, Mich.
