Horace B.

Horace B. has a diverse range of work experience in the education and rehabilitation field. Horace began their career as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, assisting individuals with disabilities in finding employment opportunities and eliminating barriers to work. Horace then moved on to become a Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, where they managed a case load of clients with hearing impairments and oversaw case documentation, rehabilitation progress, and fiscal resources. Horace later became a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant and Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant, where they developed training modules, provided technical assistance, and served as a liaison between the State Education Agency and local education agencies. In their most recent role as a Government Program Analyst II, Horace supervised the Independent Living program and provided programmatic and technical assistance to internal and external partners. Outside of their work in rehabilitation, Horace also worked as an Independent Living Specialist at the Montgomery Center for Independent Living, where they conducted intake interviews, initiated speaking engagements, and compiled necessary reports for grant proposals. Additionally, they served as a Client Consultant for the War-Hawk Fitness Program, demonstrating knowledge and skills in exercise and fitness for individuals with disabilities.

Horace B. completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Rehabilitation Science from Alabama State University between 2006 and 2010. Horace further pursued their education at the same university and earned a Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling/Counselor from 2012 to 2014. In addition to their academic qualifications, Horace also obtained a CPR & AED certification from the American Red Cross in September 2018.
