Robert Baker has a diverse work experience in the hospitality industry. ROBERT began their career as an Assistant General Manager at China Grill, where they were involved in developing and implementing training programs and achieving the prestigious "Wine Spectator Award." ROBERT then served as an Area Manager at Whale Harbor Inn before joining Ramada Airport Hotel as a Director. At Ramada, they successfully reduced employee turnover and increased business and sales through menu re-pricing.
Moving forward, Robert held the position of Multi-Unit Manager at The Bentley Group, where they implemented purchasing and inventory procedures that resulted in significant cost savings. ROBERT also played a key role in developing new menus, reducing food costs, and improving training procedures.
Continuing their career, Robert became the Director of Operations at Remys Group, overseeing the opening and management of a six-restaurant group. ROBERT achieved significant revenue growth and successfully reduced labor costs.
Robert then served as the Food & Beverage Manager at Boyne Resorts, where they oversaw five restaurants and helped create and open two new concepts. ROBERT implemented strategies to reduce costs and mentored the management staff.
ROBERT later joined Marriott International as the Director of Food and Beverage, and then worked for New Mexico Fine Dining as the Director of Operations, where they opened new restaurants and rehabilitated existing properties. ROBERT had oversight on various aspects such as menu design, build outs, POS systems, media, and budgeting.
Currently, Robert serves as the Director of Operations at Flights Restaurant Group, where they are responsible for preparing the five-restaurant group for franchising. ROBERT has redesigned training and service programs, organized purchasing and budgeting, and introduced corrective procedures. ROBERT has also prepared new wine and food menus.
Robert Baker obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in English Literature from the University of Vermont. Additionally, they obtained a certification in ServSafe in September 2013.
