Sam Shapiro is an accomplished educator and civic leader with extensive experience in education and community engagement. Currently serving as a Fellow in the 2020 Flinn Brown Civic Leadership Fellowship at the Flinn Foundation, Shapiro focuses on developing leadership capabilities among Arizonans to tackle critical state issues. As the Director of Strategy and Growth at Vista College Prep, Shapiro has been instrumental in the growth of a leading network of schools for low-income children, overseeing significant construction projects and securing funding for expansion. Previous roles include serving as a founding First Grade Teacher and Manager of Special Projects at Vista College Prep, as well as a Corps Member with Teach For America. Shapiro holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Arizona State University.
