Darren Poikonen

Darren Poikonen has extensive experience in the telecom and IoT industry. Darren started their career in 2005 at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, where they worked as a Manager for Enterprise Data Solutions. In 2011, they were promoted to Associate Director, leading a team responsible for M2M solutions architecture. During their time at Verizon, they focused on business process consulting, network and hardware architecture, implementation, and management. In 2014, they joined Exosite as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, overseeing global sales and marketing efforts for an IoT PaaS\SaaS provider. Darren then moved on to Verizon, where they worked as an IoT Product Manager, developing and deploying Smart Cities IoT Solutions. In 2018, they joined Verizon Smart Communities, LLC as a Senior Manager, leading sales engineering efforts in the areas of traffic data analytics, video analytics, and predictive analytics. Darren also contributed to public speaking, RFX response support, sales engagements, and solution architecture validation. In 2019, they joined Verizon Professional Services as a Principal Consultant, responsible for designing and delivering professional services in support of Verizon transportation solutions in the connected vehicle space. Darren worked with automotive OEMs and the public sector on low latency edge compute CV2X solutions. Most recently, they joined floLIVE in 2023 as Director of Technical Sales\Pre-Sales.

Darren Poikonen obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Minnesota State University, Mankato between 1989 and 1993.
