The Role: As the Acquiring Partnership Manager, you will responsible for establishing, developing and optimizing partnerships with Acquiring banks and/or other financial institutions. The candidate must have a deep understanding of payments, especially card acquiring operations while ensuring that all activities are concluded in the designated market in line with best practices and regulatory standards. You will also be responsible for the development, approval and execution of card acquiring strategies for new and existing partners.

Responsibilities

  • Identify Potential Card acquiring partners
  • Establish, build and maintain cross-functional relationships with the partner on every level from the operators to executive management
  • Negotiate and execute necessary agreements
  • Strategic planning, market analysis and execution
  • Ensure proper internal coordination of activities relating to card acquiring
  • Work with internal stakeholders to execute applicable projects
  • Ensure effective monitoring of partner performance (transactions, compliance and relationship)
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues & conflict, reducing escalations to the barest minimum
  • Proffer solutions for continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline, MBA preferred
  • Experience working in a compliance/internal audit function in a Nigerian bank
  • Experience working in card operations in a Nigerian bank
  • Expertise in payments, financial services and/or local payment methods
  • Exceptional people management skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Must be prepared to work on-site at client locations as needed
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the organization
  • Ability to perform under pressure.

  • Experience of working in an agile environment, where you have responded quickly to changing business needs
