Anchal Goyanka

Anchal Goyanka has a comprehensive work experience in data science and research roles. Anchal recently joined FLYR Labs as a Senior Data Scientist in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Snap Inc. from 2020 to 2022, holding the position of Data Scientist. At Snap Inc., Anchal played a crucial role in automating regression analysis and dashboarding, providing business insights on core metrics. Anchal collaborated with international strategy and growth teams, strategizing growth campaigns through data insights. Anchal also built models for detecting shifts in user engagement and created dashboards for various user insights. Anchal supported Metric Excellence Operations program and audited metrics and statements for earnings reports. Additionally, they were responsible for maintaining airflow DAGs and presenting their work at organization-wide meetings.

Before joining Snap Inc., Anchal worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at the Automated Reasoning Group, UCLA, from 2018 to 2019. During their time there, they pioneered an algorithm using agglomerative clustering to learn the hierarchical structure of a route map using GPS data. Anchal also synthesized a simulated route dataset using Google Maps Directions API.

Anchal began their career as an intern at Carnegie Mellon University in 2016, where they worked on multi-domain speech command understanding and implemented a multitasking joint neural network. Anchal also interned at the Biorobotics Lab, Carnegie Mellon University, in 2015. At Textiq, they worked as an intern in 2015, focusing on devising a faster algorithm for merging people's names with their email addresses. Anchal started their professional journey as a Decision Scientist at Mu Sigma Inc. in 2014, where they designed a sales forecasting model and improved CRM for clients through machine learning techniques.

Throughout their career, Anchal has demonstrated strong technical skills, collaborative nature, and a commitment to delivering impactful results. Anchal has also shared their expertise through presentations, mentoring, and representing organizations at various events.

Anchal Goyanka completed a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2014. Later, from 2018 to 2020, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
