Angelica Ortiz has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Angelica currently serves as the Head of Financial Institutions - Africa at FMO, a Dutch entrepreneurial development bank. Prior to this role, they held the position of Head of Financial Institutions - Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa at the same company. Before that, they worked as the Manager of Sustainability Development, focusing on innovation and corporate strategy to drive sustainability as a business opportunity. Angelica also served as the Director of the Mid Office and Investment Officer at FMO. In addition to their work at FMO, Angelica served as the Chairman of the Board at Confoco, S.A., the largest producer of banana flakes in Ecuador, for three years.
Angelica Ortiz has a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business, Financial Services, and Management from Oregon State University, which they obtained from 1988 to 1992. Angelica then pursued an MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University from 2000 to 2002. In 2011, Angelica attended Nijenrode University, where they completed the Nyenrode Commissarissen Cyclus (NCD) program in Corporate Governance and Board Membership. Additionally, in 2012, they participated in an Executive Education program at Harvard Business School, focusing on Innovation for Sustainability.
