Sukanya Kuruganti

Sukanya is responsible for business development and acquisition, both sourcing new partner firms as well as merger candidates for Focus partner firms across the East Coast and South. Sukanya works very closely with Partner firms in all areas of strategy and organic growth including strategic talent hires, process improvement, advisor compensation and developing path-to-partnership plans etc.

Prior to joining Focus, Sukanya was a Director of Corporate Development and M&A at Barclays, leading M&A and proprietary investments across lending, payments & fin-tech in the U.S., U.K., Western Europe and South Africa. In this role, she helped business CEOs develop growth strategies and originated, structured and executed a variety of acquisitions. Prior to Barclays, Sukanya was a Vice President at Citigroup with significant experience structuring and executing M&A opportunities in the consumer, corporate and wealth businesses across the U.S. and Asia Pacific. She started her career at Arthur Andersen and had early operating experiences setting up and growing new business ventures.

Sukanya received an MBA with Honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a PGDM from IIM, Ahmedabad and her BS in Mathematics from the University of Mumbai, India. Sukanya lives in New York City with her husband and two sons and enjoys traveling with her family. She is also very involved in philanthropy focused on children and education.
