Jessica Hsu

Research Scientist at Foresight Diagnostics

Jessica Hsu has worked in a variety of roles since 2011. Jessica began their career as a Technical Processor at the Kresge Engineering Library in 2011. In 2012, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Dr. Christopher Vulpe Lab, where they investigated the role of pH and Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) concentration on the toxicity of industrial silver nanowires and silver ions in Daphnia magna. In 2013, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Dr. Issao Kubo Lab and as a Student Teacher at CalTeach. From 2014-2022, Jessica worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Her research broadly focused on elucidating the mechanisms by which embryonic processes become hijacked in adulthood to enable tumor formation and spread. Utilizing zebrafish as a model organism, they investigated the role of a critical developmental gene Six1 in the initiation and progression of Rhabdomyosarcoma, a pediatric muscle sarcoma. In 2022, Jessica began their current role as a Research Scientist at Foresight Diagnostics Inc.

Jessica Hsu obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Molecular Toxicology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2014. Jessica then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology from the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus, which they completed in 2021.
