James Crowson has had a successful career in the tech industry. In 2008, they worked as a Data Warehouse Analyst at Oracle Corporation as part of their university degree's "year in industry". In 2010, they joined Burberry as a Web & API Consultant, where they gained experience with Agile project management and REST API design. In 2012, they joined idealo internet GmbH as an iOS Developer, where they were responsible for developing their flight comparison app. In 2014, they worked as a Senior iOS Developer at JAKT, a mobile development studio, where they worked closely with two clients to gather their user requirements for iOS apps. In 2015, they joined Automated Insights, Inc. as a Senior Front-End Developer and developed an iOS app called Gekko, which they presented at an internal company hackathon. In 2018, they joined Chainyard as a Front-End Team Lead and Senior Front-End Developer, where they were responsible for hiring and leading a team of front-end engineers to build a blockchain backed SaaS platform. In 2019, they founded Upmostly, a React and JavaScript tutorial site that serves tutorials to over 3 million developers every year. Finally, in 2020, they joined Forestreet as a Lead Front-End Developer and Head of Engineering, where they led the engineering team to architect and build a SaaS product and successfully navigated the company through the technical due-diligence phase of the Series A round.

James Crowson attended New York University from 2014 to 2015, where they earned a Master of Science in Integrated Digital Media. Prior to that, they attended Bournemouth University from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology, with a focus on Data Warehousing/Data Mining, Project Management, Website Design and Development, and Mobile Development.
