Gil Tohar

Gil Tohar has a diverse work experience. Gil is currently working as a Senior Security Engineer at Forter since March 2022. Prior to that, they worked at IBM, where they had various roles including IBM Senior Cloud Developer from October 2020 to March 2022, and IBM Cloud Software Developer from February 2017 to October 2020. At IBM, they contributed to the development of cloud platform services, focusing on DevOps, CICD pipelines, and security practices for modern cloud-based applications. Gil also worked as an Information Security Specialist at Information Technology Service, UNC Chapel Hill from September 2016 to May 2017, where they were responsible for addressing security threats and developing algorithms using SQL and Python. Before that, they were a Full-Time Student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from August 2014 to May 2017. Additionally, they worked as a Web Application Developer at Carolina Performing Arts from May 2016 to September 2016, where they were involved in developing a scheduling system using the Node stack and various technologies.

Gil Tohar attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2014 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science. In addition to their degree, Gil also obtained certifications in "Think Like a Hacker" from IBM in February 2021 and "Security and Privacy by Design Foundations" from IBM in April 2020.
