Sam Yanbo Huang Fsa, Maaa

Sam Yanbo Huang, FSA, MAAA has a diverse work experience. Currently, they hold the position of VP, Capital Management at Fortitude Re starting in May 2023. Prior to this role, Sam served as a VP, VA Actuarial Strategy at Fortitude Re from October 2022 to May 2023.

Before joining Fortitude Re, Sam worked as a Senior Manager at Oliver Wyman from June 2022 to October 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Consulting Actuary at Milliman from October 2017 to June 2022.

Sam's career started at Chubb, where they worked as an Actuarial Associate from May 2016 to October 2017. They also gained experience as an Actuarial Programmer at GGY AXIS, a Moody's Analytics Company from September 2014 to May 2016.

Sam began their career as an intern at Manulife Financial, where they had roles in Reinsurance Valuation from January 2014 to April 2014 and in Asset Liability Management from April 2013 to August 2013. They also interned at ING Life Insurance, Ltd Japan as a Variable Annuity Analyst from January 2012 to December 2012.

Sam Yanbo Huang, FSA, MAAA has a strong educational background in actuarial science and statistics. From 2009 to 2014, Sam attended the University of Waterloo where they obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics degree with a specialization in Actuarial Science & Statistics.

In addition to their academic achievements, Sam has also obtained two notable certifications. In March 2018, they became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a prestigious distinction awarded by the Society of Actuaries. Following this, in June 2019, Sam earned membership into the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), further demonstrating their expertise in the field.
