Thomas Schmitt

Thomas Schmitt is the current President & CEO at Forward Air. Thomas has held this position since July of 2018. Prior to that, they were a Member of the Management Board and Chief Commercial Officer at DB Schenker from June 2015 to July 2018. From January 2013 to April 2015, they were the President and Chief Executive Officer at AquaTerra Corporation. During their time there, they led a team of 12,000 employees to enhanced market share and profitability. Purolator Inc. was their next company from September 2010 to May 2012 where they again served as President & CEO and led a team of 12,000 employees to enhanced market share and profitability.

In January 2008, Thomas became the Chairman of the Board at the Greater Memphis Chamber and held that position until December 2010. Thomas then went on to become the President & CEO of FedEx Services at FedEx from January 1999 to December 2009. Before that, they were a Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company from January 1993 to December 1998.

Thomas Schmitt attended Harvard Business School, where they earned an MBA with a High Distinction (Baker Scholar) designation. Prior to attending Harvard, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Business at Middlesex University.
