Helen Heymann

Senior Scientific Project Manager, Metabolic Disorders at Foundation for the National Institutes of Health

Helen Heymann is the Senior Scientific Project Manager for Metabolic Disorders at the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health. Helen has over twenty years of experience in public health policy and program management.

Prior to their current position, Helen served as the Senior Education Program Manager at the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, where they oversaw the development and enhancement of the mental health association’s professional education initiatives, signature programs, and accreditations. Helen also forged partnerships with various committees and organizations to improve patient care.

Before their work at ADAA, Helen worked as a consultant, providing technical assistance to health organizations on policies and programmatic interventions. Helen also advised on and documented local public school primary health care & promotion.

Helen’s previous positions also include Senior Health Project Manager at Family Health International 360 and Senior Public Heath Program Officer at the Academy for Educational Development. In these roles, they were responsible for managing large scale public health programs and developing policies to improve population health.

Helen’s experience in public health makes their uniquely qualified to lead the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health’s efforts to improve the lives of those with metabolic disorders.

Helen Heymann has a Masters of Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Masters of Medical Sciences from the University of Sheffield, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Geneva Graduate Institute. Helen is certified by the TIA Education group in Project Management, Astra Nova Training in Good Laboratory Practice, The National Institutes of Health in Clinical Pharmacology, and Introduction to the Principles and Practices of Clinical Research. Helen is also certified by NIDA Clinical Coordinating Center in Good Clinical Practice and the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Nursing Assistant and Medication Technician.
