Senior Data Scientist at FourKites

Brad Colbert has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Brad started their career in 1994 at Accurate Automation Corporation as a System Analyst, where they focused on applying artificial neural networks to various NASA, Air Force, and Navy projects. Brad then moved on to ITT Systems and Sciences, Inc. in 1996 as a Systems Analyst, working on research projects related to virtual reality and battle situational awareness for the US Navy and US Marine Corps.

In 1998, Brad joined Greystone Technology, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed and deployed applications for the RAGE 3D rendering and simulation toolkit, with a focus on UAV camera operator training. Brad later worked at Renaissance Networking, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer from 2001 to 2004.

Brad's entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Renaissance Sciences Corporation in 2004, where they held multiple roles including Co-Founder and Director of Product Development. Brad managed and developed various projects, such as SimHDR, a physics-based multi-spectral radiative transfer model, and the Virtual Terrain Board (VTB). Additionally, Brad served as the Vice President of the company from 2013 to 2015, working on projects like TEAMWorks, a tactical training and evaluation system, and a computer vision system for tracking animal subjects for TBI detection.

In 2017, Brad joined Blue Newt Software, Inc. as a Senior Principal Software Engineer. Here, they designed and developed a system simulation for a shared augmented reality product for Facebook's consumer products division. Brad also worked on projects such as Zebra Technologies Motionworks and NFL Next Gen Stats, where they contributed to the development of a computer vision-based calibration system and a predictive tracking capability and data distribution system, respectively.

Most recently, Brad joined FourKites, Inc. in 2020 as a Senior Data Scientist.

From 1989 to 1994, Brad Colbert attended Radford University, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science. During their time at the university, they also studied Physics as a field of interest.
