James Andrus

James Andrus has a diverse and extensive work experience in the legal and investment sectors. James is currently working as the Vice President of Sustainability Global Markets at Franklin Templeton since March 2023. Prior to that, they held various positions at CalPERS from 2014 to 2023, including Interim Managing Investment Director and Investment Manager. At CalPERS, they played a crucial role in developing and implementing regulatory strategies, communicating with international agencies, and influencing legislative decisions. Before CalPERS, they worked at K&L Gates as a Corporate and Investment Management Partner, where they built a successful corporate practice and advised institutional investors on various transactions. James also served as an Adjunct Professor at Seattle University School of Law in 2006. Earlier in their career, at Mayer Brown, they worked as an Associate, providing legal advice to international banking and financial services clients. Throughout their career, James has demonstrated expertise in corporate governance, financial reporting, and stakeholder relations, consistently exceeding expectations.

James Andrus holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Organizational Leadership from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
