Matthew Bishop

Matthew Bishop is a seasoned accounting professional with significant experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as Principal at the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) since October 2019, Matthew previously held positions as Director and Senior Manager at Hudson's Bay Company from September 2014 to September 2019. Prior to that, Matthew worked at Ernst & Young from January 2008 to August 2014, progressing from Senior Staff Accountant to Manager in Financial Accounting Advisory Services. Matthew's expertise encompasses global IFRS implementation, regulatory compliance, financial reporting performance, and new accounting standards. Matthew holds a Master of Arts in Management and Professional Accounting from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Queen's University, along with a CPA designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
